So are you over winter? I know I am and this week's Pile It On challenge encourages you to think about anything other than winter!

So I decided to create a very vintage valentine!

Papers used are by Daisy D and the 'my love' sticker is by Martha Stewart. And do you see the heart embossing on the polka dotted paper, love that effect.

And this card also fits these challenges:

Little Red Wagon Challenge 12 - Hearts

Its Wednesday and time for another Little Red Wagon challenge! This week Avril set the challenge of using hearts.

I broke into my new stamp set I won from Practicing Creativity called key To My Heart to create this card:

Not only was the key, lock and sentiment created with the stamp set so was the argyle pattern! And I followed this week's CPS sketch #151 too. I thought about adding more to this card but decided to keep it simple.

Please take a peek at what the other girlfriends created - check the links on the left sidebar...and please play along if you get a chance, we love to see what you create!

Papertrey Bloghop - The Total Package

During this month's Papertrey release there was a lot of chatter about the interior of cards and how they don't always get the attention they need. This month's challenge is to create a card that has the "total package". So not only to decorate the front, but the inside, the back and the envelope!

I've been fascinated by the easel cards I've been seeing lately and decided to create one! So using the cupcake from the Baby Button Bits set along with some Cosmo Cricket Earth Love papers and some PTI rustic cream cardstock I created one. I followed a tutorial on Splitcoast Stampers and the card turned out perfectly.

Here's the front, I remembered to stamp on patterned paper, a technique I've also been meaning to try.

And the easel view showing the sentiment from the Signature Greetings set.

And can't forget the back, stamped with a cute little saying and heart. Along with the envelope that is stamped with the dotted swirl from the Baby Button Bits set.

This was such fun to create, I'll definitely be making more!

Karen Ellis found out about this event and recently mentioned it in her newsletter. I thought it sounded like a great idea and have decided to participate too.

This event was originally created by Lisa of A Whimsical Bohemian in 2007. The idea behind this giveaway event is to bring bloggers together from around the world who may never ordinarily meet. 2007 had roughly 85-90 participants then in 2008 the number of participants tripled! In 2009 there were 911 participants with 28 countries represented! I wonder how many there will be this year! And not only is this a giveaway but it is also a chance to meet and form friendships with people from around the world!

As I am a papercrafter, my giveaway is a set of 8 handmade notecards(based on a design I saw in my blog travels but I'm not sure where now!)and envelopes. I selected paper(designed by Amy Butler)I thought was fairly in keeping with the Magic Carpet theme.

So leave me a comment here between Jan 25,2010 and February 14,2010 to win! I'll draw and post the winner on February 15, 2010. Be sure to leave me your email or a link to your blog so that I can contact you!

Updated Feb 1, 2010: because I'm now over 100 comments, I've added another set of notecards to the giveaway! These also feature Amy Butler paper! If I hit over 200 comments I'll have to add another set!

Thanks so much for stopping by, I hope you enjoy your Magic Carpet ride!

I will be taking the Magic Carpet ride too and hope to meet lots of fellow bloggers from around the world!

Fairy Fantastic!

Its me again!

One last post for today!

Challenge # 96 at Cute Card Thursday is to create something with a fairy image. Luckily I found I had a fairy stamp that I won at a crop and used it to create this card:

Isn't she cute!

And since I used older papers, ribbon and buttons in the creation of this card I think it also fits the Old Stuff challenge at A Bit of This. A Bit Of That!

I'm off to create something for the Papertrey bloghop tomorrow night!

Have a good evening and thanks for stopping by!

Whiff of Joy Challenge # 63

I'm back with another card!

Here's one I created following the recipe at Whiff Of Joy to use 4 patterned papers, 3 bling and two flowers.

This one is quite out of my comfort zone as I usually don't use more than one or two patterned papers at a time. I coloured the bling using my copics to perfectly match the paper, Nook and Pantry, by Basic Grey. And of course I coloured my Whiff of Joy girl to match too!

Warm Wishes

Happy Sunday everyone! What are you up to today? I've just vacuumed and dusted my car(hate the winter muck that ends up in the car!), and am planning to do some laundry and a couple of other odd jobs this afternoon. Oh, and I am going to pick up my Papertrey order too, can't wait to create with it!

I spent a lovely evening last night creating some cards so I may post a few times today and show you my creations!

I'm playing along with Pile It On this week and designed this 'warm wishes' card. I love turquoise and red together!

I also incorporated swirls as suggested at Hand Full of Stamps and layers as suggested at Spoon Full of Sugar.

Enjoy your day and maybe treat yourself to a cup of hot chocolate!

Moxie Fab Trigger Tuesday - I Feel Pretty in Turquoise and Gold

I decided to participate in Moxie Fab's Trigger Tuesday again this week as I have a certain weakness for turquoise.

This trigger is from the House of Turquoise another blog I read quite regularly!

And here's my card:

I was inpired by the wallpaper to stamp(PTI's Damask Designs) white damask on kraft paper(my version of gold)then added a splash of turquosie by using the pompom trim!

White is predominent in the trigger which I brought in with the white card base and flowers. And I put my sentiment on a white oval die cut as inspired by the mirror shape!

Hang In There

A little while back Heidi of VanLaar Designs made this card.

I told her when I saw it that I was going to 'cardlift' it as I had some chandelier(by Inkadinkado) stamps that I hadn't used yet.

And finally here it is!

I used Papertrey inks to stamp then cut out the chandeliers and popped them up! I added some bling too!

Thanks for the inspiration Heidi!

Little Red Wagon Challenge 12 - Snowflakes

Its Wednesday and that means another Little Red Wagon challenge! This week it is Carolyn's turn to set the challenge and that is to use snowflakes!
I used my Whiff of Joy stamp again with colours inspired by the ribbon. Then following CPS sketch 150 I created this card:

Not sure if you can tell but I added a bit of bling to the centre of each snowflake!

Please take a peek at what the other girlfriends created - check the links on the left sidebar...and please play along if you get a chance, we love to see what you create!

And by participating in our challenge this week you will be entered in a random draw to win this amazing collection of goodies from our team.

Little Red Wagon Challenge 11 - Polka Dots

Its Wednesday and that means another Little Red Wagon challenge! This week it is Joanne's turn to set the challenge and that is to use polka dots!

I ended up making two cards, both of which use the Forest Friends stamp set by The Greeting Farm. This is a stamp set Brittany thought I should buy and finally I've used it. Its about time too, the images are so cute!

I coloured the images last night at the TSF Card Friendzy and got some great tips from Avril, Regan and Deanna, thanks guys!

Here's my first card, where I stamped the background in rustic looking polka dots.

And here's my second card, its uses polka dotted paper by Bo Bunny. I also followed Laura's sketch 43 in the creation of this card.

Please take a peek at what the other girlfriends created - check the links on the left sidebar...and please play along if you get a chance, we love to see what you create!

Hmmm, now I wonder which 'deer' friends I should send these cards to?

Cuttlebug Challenges - Be Inspired 65

The challenge this week at CCC is to create something with a primarily white theme and an asian influence.

I looked through my embossing folders to find one that had an asian look to it then combined it with red and a gold sentiment to create this card:

So what do you think, does it have an Asian feel to you?
